What is Postmates for Work?

Postmates for Work is our offering that allows companies to provide their employees with meals without the expense reporting. If you’re enrolled in Postmates for Work, you’ll be able to order meals for delivery or pickup through the Postmates app or website.

How to get started

If your company has recently signed up with Postmates for Work, here’s how to get started: 

  • Check your work inbox. You’ll receive a welcome email from Postmates. Select ‘Get Started.’ 
  • If you already have a Postmates account, you’ll be directed to your profile page in the app. Add your work email to your profile. 
    • Open the activation email you receive and select ‘Activate Profile.’ You’re ready to go! 
  • If you do not have a Postmates account, you’ll be directed to the Postmates homepage, where you can sign up as a new user. If you like, you can add your personal email to the Personal profile or your work email to both your Personal and your Postmates for Work profiles. 
    • Open the activation email you receive and select ‘Activate Profile.’ You’re ready to go!

Troubleshooting

Having trouble finding your profiles? If the email link you were sent doesn’t open your account screen, open your Postmates app and navigate to your account by selecting the photo in the upper left-hand corner of the app (right-hand corner on the web). Then select your name to open your account details and profiles section. 

Having trouble activating your work profile? If your work profile is still pending after using the activation link you received, follow these steps to activate: 

In the app: 

  • Navigate to your account by tapping your profile photo in the upper left corner
  • Tap your name
  • Tap your work email address
  • Enter the 6-digit code that was included in your activation email

On the web: 

  • Navigate to your account by clicking your profile photo in the upper right corner
  • Navigate to ‘Account Settings’
  • Click on your work email address
  • Enter the 6-digit code that was included in your activation email

Frequently asked questions

Do I get business credits for each meal?
Your company decides the rules governing your Postmates for Work program. To see the details of your work policy, visit the Policy Details section of your profile in the app. Tap Admin Details > Work Profile > Show Details. 

Do I have to order within a certain time frame?
The effective period depends on your specific work policy. To see the details of your work policy, visit the Policy Details section of your profile in the app. Tap Admin Details > Work Profile > Show Details.  

Can I choose when to use my credits?
As long as you're ordering within your company’s policy rules, you’ll be presented with the option to use your credits now or save them for later. For instance, if your policy offers a $20 credit to use from 11am - 11:59pm on Tuesdays, you will not see business credits available to you outside of this time period. 

Is there a price limit on what I can order?
The price limit depends on your specific work policy. You can order more than your company price limit, but the overage goes on your personal card. To see the details of your work policy, visit the Policy Details section of your profile in the app. Tap Admin Details > Work Profile > Show Details. 

I have a promo code. Can I use it with my Postmates for Work order?
Any valid promo code or Party discount can be used on your Postmates for Work order. 

Do I have to link a credit card to my account to use Postmates for Work?
Yes, you need to link a credit card in order to place orders with Postmates for Work. If your orders are within your company policy, your card will not be charged. (You may be charged a temporary authorization fee. This fee will be refunded back to your card.) 

What if there is an issue with my delivery? 
If you cancel within the acceptable cancel period, your business credits associated with that order will be returned directly to your account. These refunded credits are still Postmates for Work credits and any order with which you use them needs to comply with your company’s policy. If there’s an issue with your order after the cancellation period, please use the Help options in your Postmates app to let us know. If you’re awarded credits, those are subject to the support credit rules.  

What if I already have a Postmates account that uses my work email address? 
No problem! Just add your work email again to your work profile. Once you verify the email, you can start using your company’s Postmates for Work program.
